WCTA Raise
and Release Project 

Our Mission

The goal of the WCTA Aquaculture, Raise and Release project is to raise the Bonytail Chub, an endangered species of fish. This student-led project will not only raise nearly 1,500 endangered fish each year, but  will also allow students to be exposed to real-world problems and allow them a chance to make a positive impact. This program will foster stewardship of the Colorado River and Southwestern ecology, promote environmental and biological sciences, encourage philanthropy and hands-on and participatory learning, and expose students to working with government agencies.
